Yeah, I'm thinking the driver on the board is definitely FUBAR. According to every config file I can find, the LED should be running at 100% brightness. That's not 100%. The guy who sold me the board said he used a few of those and they were super bright. This one must be a bad one.

I don't have a voltage tester, but I can pick one up at work.

it might be as simple as a bad fet but that could be near impossible to replace depending what type of SMD type the use.

Honestly, that board is sitting in a box being ignored right now. I may do some testing with it this weekend, but if it doesn't work it'll just get trashed. I lack the skill, patience and desire to start trying to replace tiny tiny components on a board that's about the size of two US quarters sitting side-by-side.

that's where you find the input to the  old fet, rip the old fet off with good side cutters or such ( smd solder
is pretty weak )

figure out the signal wire or that fet and sun it to a bigger external one dead bug style.

but if your really nut you go with a dual-core esp32 SOC with wifi and the ability to do persistence of vision effects. LOL

I just like sabers that light up and play sounds. In fact, not all of mine even do the latter.

That's just a sneak peek. Now, I didn't totally wire up the board this morning, that was one I did a while back and had in one of my Saberfoge "Apprentice" sabers. Apprentice tier sabers start at $75 and are less fancy than the $149+ "Elite" sabers. However, I just got an Elite in the mail yesterday, so I decided that it need the Prizm sound board, so I did the swap. It's got a Tri CREE XP-E2 in red, green, royal blue and the Prizm sound board. I loaded up the default config files, so it just has the default fonts and color profiles for now. I'll be tweaking that as time permits.

That a cool Saber and look much better than the one I have seen that you can get form Galaxy edge.

The ones at Galaxy's Edge are cheap. I know people are balking at the prices, but in the world of nice sabers, $200 for a metal hilt, light and sound is actually cheap.

I have over $300 into that one that I posted the cellphone video of. Hell, the hilt alone was $149. The soundboard was $115. The LED was $20.50. That's not including the heat sink, which was an additional $9.50, then I had to buy the optic too. The chassis was $20, which is actually pretty cheap for a 3D printed chassis. That's $314 right there. Then there's all the cheap stuff, like the switches, speaker and battery. Add in shipping and I'm at at least $350. The blade was one I had on hand, but that's about an additional $29, because it's an Ultrasabers thin walled standard size (that one is 32 inches) blade. Now, if I bought that saber from Saberforge fully loaded with color changing, which is called their Hero tier, it's $598. So, the $350+ I have in it isn't that bad, since I have most or all of the functions of their Hero tier. And, bear in mind that some people consider Saberforge cheap because they mass produce sabers with parts manufactured in China, so they're not as expensive as some saber smiths. One off customs can go into the thousands of dollars.

So, yeah, cheap stuff at the Disney park. But, that's all to be taken in with a trip there, hotel stay, admission to the park, food, other souvenirs and other expenses. I guess some people are dropping $25,000 on droids at the park, so it's not like the sabers are that expensive.

way cool.  the thing I would want is the prism, I got the light and power supply, hell I even have a 9DOF  module that could track my hand motion.


TBH I do have  Starwars merch "light Dagger", its a mini sabre that is about 5 inches long that held candy in a Vader head attached to the other end. I bought it at a movie. not a smart idea movie place. selling bright  mini sabres in a theatre

Damn, it's bad enough when some tool just "has to" turn on their phone screen in front of you. Having sabers in there has to be worse.

it wa skinda cool cause it was SW themed event .  amd almost al behaved pretty quick .  once it was clear teh stupid adds and trailers were over.


Also 2 kids had some soudn fonts on a drumpad app on thhier fones and were talking in droid sounds across the theatre and reacting to the adds and trailers, was pretty funny in the end.

in case some of you have not seen the tool that is JSplacemnet ..  you need to check it out for making greebles. it generates 8k textures

it makes 8k file s that are like 10MB and more.  so this grey one is just a lil one I shrunk down.

i  use them in blender on a plane, that has been sliced 100 times and then a 3x subdiv modifier

the blender scene is 6.5+million tris
