Now that my TOS Enterprise is complete, I've started working on the Galileo shuttlecraft.  There are ton's of images and blueprints out there, but I have a question.  When looking down from the top, some blueprints show a straight line from the front to the back of the shuttlecraft.  Other blueprints shows the side expanding outward along the mid-line and then bowing back in.  I've seen images of model kits done both way as well.  When I look at images of the original shuttle, it appears to be a straight line along the mid-line.

Any of you experts out there know which version is closer to the original?  At first, I thought this would be a fairly straight forward ship to model, but it has been a bit of a pain for me.  I've restarted the darned thing 4 times.

Oh yeah, some of the blueprints make the shuttle look rectangular in shape from the top and others make it look wedged in shape (narrow in front and wider in rear).

Thanks in advance...
Al

I think the actual set model that the cast interacted with was straight down.
But the filming model (space scene) it faired out a bit at the back.
When I built this, I went with the faired version. I think it look better.

Thanks for the info Freak.  Could you post a picture of your shuttle?  Would love to see how it turned out.

Thanks Eric.  I did end up making the hull in a slight wedge shape, so it is looking pretty good now.
