Warning .. super nerdy .

It means essentially i have a way to move ships by forces . not direct code. This means they will 'naturaly' collide with things, bounce off and slide about them.

so ugh yeah and better waypoint tracking comes free too.
so fighter swarms .. capital ships all would use this.

it will also make it easier to expos it for you all to mod in your own ships.

If you can use blender, then you will be able to make ships for it.

how almost 20 min of highly nerd stuff.

here you can see 2 shots , one is the rock /roid mesh before it gets optimized by the program.

blue/ aqua color is  wire mesh of the collider shape .

you can see i am close to the same rock in both pics. Lower poly count is a huge boost for the performance of the collision systems.

and yep every dot of aqua color is the line mesh of a random sized and distance asteroid.

in that last pic, it's not so clear ...  but that Lil name on the asteroid is the big BSG-sized ship

my world/space is big!

My rock scatterer, that's the code for it, for 6 rock types or shapes.
what this means is the mesh instances will use fewer draw calls and GPU power, saving power for the collision detections.

I'm hoping to get an AI collision avoidance working.

I found a way for the engine to place collision meshes over the random asteroids.

YAY!

that means the mouse can pick them as waypoint targets, and soon I can do collision avoidance systems.

so instead of flying through them like a ghost, you will collide !

560 asteroids are auto-magically placed and now matching collision mesh is positioned correctly and the poly count is auto-reduced.

so happy.

There isn't a single GNDN pipe in any of the hallways.

LOL!  You LEGITIMATELY made me laugh out loud!
